A FORMER overseas Filipino worker (OFW) showcases her homemade hot sauce at the Food Taipei Mega Shows, one of Asia's major international food exhibitions, at the Taipei World Trade Center on June 25-28.

Jury Joani, who worked in the Middle East, particularly in Dubai, for more than 30 years, presents her business, Jury Hot Sauce Trading to the fair with her flagship product, Jury Hot Sauce.
The multi-use hot sauce is halal-certified and approved by the Food and Drug Administration or FDA.
The company's headquarters are located in Kuwait and Vietnam.
Joani developed the recipe during her years in the Gulf region.

The sauce, made with spices and preparation techniques rooted in Arab culinary tradition, was once served in royal households.
Over time, she transformed the recipe into a viable commercial venture for broader markets, using Philippine-made or -grown raw materials.
Her business was formerly assisted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which provided technical support, training and guidance in product development and market access.
Joani's participation in the Taipei expo is seen as a step toward expanding her brand across Asia and connecting with global distributors in the food and hospitality sectors.
She was previously featured in a Dubai-based international magazine and a London-based publication for her successful transition from domestic worker as cook to an entrepreneur.
Her story has since inspired other OFWs to consider business opportunities after employment abroad.
The Food Taipei Mega Shows gather manufacturers, exporters and buyers from various countries, providing a venue to promote products, forge partnerships and explore investment in the food and beverage industry.
