Eala whips foe to open up Japan bid

TOKYO—Alex Eala made short work of British teenager Mika Stojsavljevic, cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 victory Monday to reach the round of 16 of the Toray Pan Pacific Open. The eighth-seeded Filipino star needed just 75 minutes to dispatch the 17-year-old wildcard at Ariake Coliseum for a commanding opening-round performance in the WTA 500 tournament.
