MANILA, Philippines — The Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAP), the country’s premier organization of business journalists, will hold its annual Infrastructure Forum on June 16 at Fairmont Hotel in Makati.
With the theme “Government Infrastructure Program: What’s Been Achieved and What’s Next,” the forum aims to tackle government and private sector initiatives toward achieving modernized transportation and internet infrastructure.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon will deliver his keynote address highlighting the agency’s accomplishments during his first 100 days in office, as well as pipeline projects aimed at improving road, railway, aviation and seaport infrastructure.
On the other hand, Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda will discuss his office’s key priorities for expanding digital connectivity and strengthening cybersecurity, with a focus on expanding connectivity to underserved communities, particularly in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
Grab Philippines, Converge ICT Solutions Inc., Globe Telecom Inc. and PLDT Group are the Gold Sponsors of the forum, and their representatives will participate in a panel discussion after the speeches of Dizon and Aguda.
“This year’s iteration of EJAP’s annual infrastructure forum will give stakeholders an exclusive look at how the government and private sector are working hand in hand to address challenges in the transportation and telecommunications sectors, especially at a time of rapid urbanization and artificial intelligence,” EJAP president Myla Iglesias-Acuña said.
The EJAP Infrastructure Forum is also supported by San Miguel Corp., Metro Pacific Investments Corp., Filinvest Development Corp., Megawide Construction Corp. and International Container Terminal Services Inc.
