MANILA, Philippines — A 72-year-old woman died while 30 families were left homeless in a fire that struck a residential area in Antipolo City, Rizal on Sunday night.
The fire destroyed up to 25 houses in Barangay Munting Dilaw before it was put under control, according to the Calabarzon police.
Firefighters recovered the remains of Teresita Dollentes during clearing operations.
Arson probers said the fire started at around 11:50 p.m. and was declared out at past 1 a.m. the following day.
Probers have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
