https://shorturl.at/V2AG7In the debut episode, Elva teams up with singer-songwriter Phil Lam to help a teenage boy with a rare disease, Tsz Kin, realize his dream of composing music. Elva hopes these stories will inspire others not to give up and calls on the public to support the "Angel Mission", which brings TCM care and new hope to children facing serious medical conditions.
Elva Ni and Phil Lam Help Teen with Muscular Dystrophy Compose His First Song
The first episode features 16-year-old Tsz Kin, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and currently incurable disease. The condition affects approximately 1 in 5,000 individuals, currently has no cure, and the average life expectancy for patients is 18 years. Diagnosed at just 18 months old, Tsz Kin began using a wheelchair in 2018 as his muscles weakened. Since 2019, he has been receiving weekly acupuncture treatments through the "Angel Mission", which have helped relieve the deterioration in his hands and muscle strength.
A passionate music lover, Tsz Kin had always dreamed of learning to compose. With Elva's encouragement and guidance, he began studying composition and arrangement from scratch. Elva even gifted him an electric keyboard to fuel his creativity, becoming his "muse" along the way. After months of hard work, Tsz Kin completed the first draft of his debut song. Deeply moved by his journey, Phil Lam happily agreed to mentor him further. The episode concludes with Tsz Kin, Elva, and Phil co-performing the completed piece - a moment of joy and triumph for the aspiring young composer, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to both Elva and Phil for their support.
Children with Autism Become a Princess and Shop Assistant
The second and third episodes of "Elva's Dream Series" focus on children with autism. The second episode features 14-year-old Sze Wai, who has long dreamed of becoming a Disney princess. After listening carefully to her story, Elva personally did Sze Wai's makeup, helping her transform into Belle from "Beauty and the Beast". Sze Wai's radiant smile spoke volumes about her happiness.
In the third episode, we meet Kai Man, another young girl with autism who dreams of becoming a confident, independent shop assistant. With support from her mother and Elva, she bravely faced the challenges posed by speech difficulties and got a chance to experience her dream job.
"Stand Up with Love: Angel Mission" Brings Free TCM to Children in Need
Founded in October 2018 by Professor Wong Tin Chee, Community Med Care is a charity organization providing free TCM care, especially bone-setting treatments, to children and youth (ages 0-30) with congenital or acquired brain damage, autism, Down syndrome, rare diseases, and more. The "Stand Up with Love: Angel Mission" is its flagship initiative, celebrating its 7th anniversary this year.
To mark the occasion, ambassador Elva Ni created the "Elva's Dream Series" mini-documentary in partnership with the organization. Each episode follows a child's journey - understanding their daily life, challenges, and dreams, and helping them achieve what once seemed unreachable.
Elva's Dream Series
This seven-episode mini-documentary series premieres on June 13, 2025, and will air on the second Friday of each month at 5 PM on Elva Ni's official YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@misselvani ).
