BIÑAN CITY — The Social Security System (SSS) has launched the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE), an initiative aimed at encouraging employers to comply with SSS regulations, particularly the timely and accurate remittance of employees' contributions.

According to Rosario Bien, acting head of SSS Biñan City Branch, this nationwide campaign is focused on addressing employers who fail to register their businesses with the SSS or do not remit the required contributions on time.

Bien stressed that the primary goal of RACE is to ensure that Filipino workers receive the social protection benefits they are legally entitled to, including sickness, maternity, retirement, and other forms of assistance.

RACE is designed not only as an enforcement effort but also as an educational and support-driven initiative, said Bien.

The initiative, according to Bien, employs a mix of strategies, such as issuing written notices to erring employers and offering assistance to help them fulfill their obligations. The emphasis is on promoting voluntary compliance rather than punitive action, Bien said.
