With a lot of gadgets popping left and right, it gets harder to tell what actually stands out — and more importantly, what’s actually worth paying for.
There’s no shortage of good-looking phones, and even fewer that promise strong performance. But finding one that balances both without feeling like you’re compromising at some point? It’s really where it gets tricky.
This wasn’t the case for the vivo V70 FE.
IRIDESCENT GLOW. The vivo V70 FE in Muse Purple. The moment I saw it, I was already struck by how good it looked, but more so by how it felt in my hand.
The vivo V70 FE features a 7.59 mm slim profile. It’s light, easy to hold, and doesn’t feel tiring to carry, even with long hours of use. The finish also catches light in a subtle way, giving it a soft iridescent look that feels very premium.
A camera that keeps up with how we actually take photos
We’re a photo-forward generation. We take photos of big milestones, yes — but just as often, we document the small, “nothing special but I want to remember this” kind of moments as well. And for that, the camera has to keep up.
The vivo V70 FE comes with a 200MP OIS ultra-clear main camera. While that number sounds big on paper, what it really translates to is the detail you can actually see.
I noticed it first at home.
I took a photo of my bright red coffee machine sitting against an otherwise simple kitchen setup. The colors came out exactly as they looked in real life — no overprocessing, no weird blurs around the edges.

That’s really where the 200MP sensor shows up, in how clearly details come through straight out of the camera.
I also tested its zoom capabilities. I was curious about its AI 30x Super Zoom feature, so I stood in a mall near me and tried to capture buildings about 3km away from where I was standing.
ZOOM TEST. Capturing buildings at 1x.
THE RESULT OF 30X ZOOM? A highly zoomed-in shot where you can see the structure and details of the building.I was impressed by how much detail it was able to retain, even at that distance, something made possible by its AI-assisted zoom processing.
Another thing about shooting with the 200MP main camera is how much detail it preserves, even when you crop into the shot. So I tested just how far I could push it.
SHOOTING ON 200MP. Capturing as much detail as possible.
STILL CLEAR! Cropped sections from the 200MP shot. The result is a set of sharp, detailed images, in which you can clearly see the reflections in the water and the textures of the plants, as well as the lines and structure of the building.
Capturing spaces the way you remember them
I spent one afternoon at The Lobby at The Peninsula Manila, a place I keep coming back to, whether it’s for work meetings or just to slow down for a bit (and listen to live piano or orchestra). It’s one of those spaces where large dimensions, lighting, and detail all come together, and I’m surprised (and so pleased) that the vivo V70 FE was able to handle it well.
SUNBURST. A sculpture by Philippine National Artist Napoleon Abueva for The Peninsula Manila. The large sensor and built-in stabilization (OIS) helped keep the shots clear, even indoors. The details in the ceiling — where National Artist for Sculpture Napoleon Abueva’s Sunburst hangs — came through clearly, without needing to tweak anything after.
The way it captured the iconic sculpture felt true to its appearance in real life.
Portraits, movement, and everything in between
Later in the week, I found myself in Salcedo Village, just walking around with my family. This is where I started playing around with the camera more.

I switched between ultra-wide and portrait mode, and ended up taking a few shots of the area and portraits of my dog. The subject separation looked natural (no harsh cutouts!) and details on his fur stayed sharp. It didn’t feel like I had to “work” for the shots — they just came out right.

That day, I also headed to my pilates class and thought it was a great chance to test out the vivo V70 FE’s camera in low light. It was already evening by then, and the lighting in the studio was dramatic — almost spa-like.
SPARK PILATES. A fitness studio in Makati City.I grabbed my phone to see how much light it could capture, and I was surprised by how much detail it still picked up. You could clearly see the structure of the machines — the springs, straps, and metal frame — all clearly visible, even in dim lighting. Nothing looked muddy or grey-ish, which is usually what happens in low-light shots.
Testing it where it matters — live events!
A few days later, I got to test the phone in a completely different environment. I was invited to the vivo V70 FE launch at SM Mall of Asia, where the device was officially unveiled. The event was introduced by vivo’s brand ambassador Alden Richards, and of course, I took the opportunity to get a quick selfie!
ALDEN RICHARDS. vivo V70 FE brand ambassador.

Even with mixed lighting from LED screens and stage lights, the photo came out clean. Skin tones looked natural and soft (nakakakinis? haha).
vivo x POP MART. The vivo V70 FE comes with a built-in Zsiga border.Another exciting feature of the vivo V70 FE is its collaboration with POP MART. The phone comes with a Zsiga border. In an age when personalization takes front and center, this addition fits right into how people use their phones now. It shows how even our phones are catching up to the “anik-anik” era.
Adding a Zsiga border to your photo just makes it feel more like your own — and in my case, it made my selfie with Alden Richards a whole lot cuter.

Then came another part that I was excited about the launch. P-pop girl group KAIA performed live, and if there’s any situation that can easily throw off a phone camera, it’s this. Fast movement, changing lights, and constant motion — but the V70 FE still pleasantly delivered.

Shots stayed relatively sharp mid-movement, and colors remained accurate even under strong stage lighting, which are good indicators of how adaptable the camera is.
A battery that keeps up
One thing I didn’t expect to notice as much as I did was the battery. I realized I wasn’t thinking about charging as often as I normally would, because for an entire week of use, I only charged three times.
This is when I knew that the vivo V70 FE actually packs a powerful 7,000mAh BlueVolt battery. This means that it is designed to support heavy usage. And when you do need to stretch it further, the Super Battery Saver feature helps extend whatever charge you have left, which is useful for those moments when you’re running low but still need your phone to get through the rest of the day.
Even at 1%, it can last up to 4 hours on standby, and when it’s time to charge, the 90W FlashCharge brings it back up to 100% in about an hour — fast enough to not disrupt your day.
A phone that fits into your life
Before testing the vivo V70 FE, I thought the imaging capabilities would stand out to me. But after a week with it, I realized that I was impressed by not just one feature, but how well everything worked together.
- The 200MP camera captures clear and sharp images
- The battery keeps up with my everyday use (and more!)
- The fast charging brings my battery back up without disrupting my workflow
- The Zsiga border feature makes personalization possible, unique, and exciting
Having all these together, it doesn’t feel like the vivo V70 FE is a midrange phone. If anything, I think it’s a great contender to other premium models.
