Former Philippine Airlines COO Stanley Ng takes his oath as the new Department of Tourism Undersecretary before Tourism Secretary Ma. Bernardita "Dita" Angara-Mathay on June 8, 2026.
DOT / Release
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism (DOT) has appointed three new undersecretaries.
Among the new appointees is captain Stanley Ng, former president and chief operating officer of Philippine Airlines (PAL), along with executives Maria Victoria Jasmin and Maria Dionesia Rivera-Guillermo.
Ng is the Undersecretary for DOT’s Halal Tourism and Muslim Concerns office while, Jasmin will be assigned as DOT Undersecretary for Tourism Regulation, Coordination, and Resource Generation, and Rivera Guillermo, is taking on the role of Undersecretary for Administration and Finance, according to DOT spokesperson Ina Zara-Loyola.
In a Facebook post on Monday, June 8, the DOT welcomed the three officials whom it said would bring experience from both the public and private sectors. It also posted photos when the new appointees taking their oath.
“With their extensive experience from both the public and private sectors, they bring valuable expertise and leadership that will help strengthen the Department’s programs, partnerships, and efforts to advance a more competitive, inclusive, and sustainable Philippine tourism industry,” the DOT said.
“We look forward to working with them in driving initiatives that will further support tourism stakeholders, local communities, and travelers,” it added.
Ng served as PAL's COO for three years until May 2025, after nearly two decades with the flag carrier. Jasmin is a former DOT undersecretary under the late Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. and also the president and CEO of Pacific-Atlantic Business Management Consulting Inc. Rivera-Guillermo, on the other hand, previously served as the Executive Director of Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management and Officer-in-Charge of the Government Procurement Policy Board – Technical Support Office.
Their appointment comes almost two months after Ma. Bernardita "Dita" Angara-Mathay took the helm as the new tourism chief of the DOT in April.
Angara-Mathay replaces former tourism secretary Christina Frasco who was later appointed Presidential Adviser for Sustainable and Resilient Communities.
In April, she convened the heads of DOT-attached agencies at the DOT Central Office in Makati to discuss priority programs, projects and initiatives aimed at boosting tourism investments and aligning these with the infrastructure and development agenda of the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
