The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the suspects, identified only as Jerry and Chomen, were arrested in Barangay Pasiagan after they sold an undetermined amount of kush to undercover agents.

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A former chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan and a Malaysian were arrested in a sting that resulted in the seizure of high-grade marijuana or kush worth P70.8 million in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Monday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the suspects, identified only as Jerry and Chomen, were arrested in Barangay Pasiagan after they sold an undetermined amount of kush to undercover agents.

PDEA-Bangsamoro chief Gil Cesario Castro said the suspects yielded several vacuum-sealed plastic bags containing dried marijuana leaves, stalks and leaves with fruiting tops along with marked money.

The suspects had been under surveillance prior to their arrest, probers said.
