COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Policemen are searching for a farm worker who killed a drinking buddy in Barangay Katangawan in General Santos City late Monday, March 30.

Officials of the General Santos City Police Office and barangay officials in Katangawan said on Tuesday morning that the victim, Bilmar Marco Danieles Sr., was found lifeless inside the shanty after allegedly being attacked by his co-worker, Darwin Dawang, who cut his throat with a knife, sprawled on the ground in the agricultural farm where he worked as a laborer.

Local executives said it was the son of Danieles, Bilmar Jr., who first saw him dead early Tuesday, lying by his side on the ground, when he arrived bringing food for the victim at the dilapidated shelter where he spent time after work.

Barangay officials told reporters that they are certain that Danieles was killed by his co-worker, Darwin Dawang, now at large.

Danieles and Dawang were last seen drinking together at almost midnight Monday right where he was found dead, a long, sharp knife spotted close to his cadaver.

Officials of Barangay Katangawan and personnel of units in General Santos City of the Police Regional Office 12 are together searching for Dawang, seen by villagers so frantic when he left the scene and disappeared.
