KORONADAL CITY — A drunk father shot dead his 32-year-old son with a 12-gauge shotgun during a heated argument in their yard in Barangay San Jose, Koronadal City, on Saturday, March 7.
Local officials and officers from the Koronadal City Police Station told reporters on Sunday that the victim, Junery Arim Sisnorio, died instantly from pellet wounds to the shoulder and back.
His 53-year-old father, Jervy Sintin Sisnorio, voluntarily surrendered to responding policemen and barangay officials at the scene.
Police investigators and the slain Sisnorio’s 50-year-old mother, Digna, said separately that the father and son were first heard arguing over an unknown matter in their yard in the Lower Supon area of Barangay San Jose before shotgun blasts echoed through the neighborhood.
Witnesses told police and barangay officials that Jervy Sintin Sisnorio ran into the house, grabbed a shotgun, and, upon returning, shouted invectives at his son before opening fire as the 32-year-old tried to flee, striking him in the shoulder and back.
Neighbors in Lower Supon said they would assist police in building a strong criminal case against Jervy, whom they described as a heavy drinker prone to abusive behavior and trouble when intoxicated.
