FILIPINO inventors showcased their world-class ingenuity at Thailand Inventors' Day 2025, winning six Gold, four Silver, and three Bronze medals.
The prestigious event, held Feb. 2-6 at Bitec Bangkok, featured over 1,000 innovations worldwide.
Leading the Philippine delegation were FISI President Ronald Pagsanghan and Manila Young Inventors President Sonny Valenzuela, who will personally present these awards to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
Among the standout achievements was inventor Rommel Dela Cruz's gold medal-winning breakthrough — a non-surgical treatment for basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer), which also earned a Special Award from the National Research Council of Thailand. This revolutionary medical innovation offers new hope for cancer patients worldwide.
"This victory proves the world-class talent of Filipino inventors," said Pagsanghan. "Each medal reflects our dedication to advancing science and technology. The Philippines is not just keeping up — we are leading."
