BACOOR CITY, Philippines – Up to 200 houses were destroyed in a fire that broke out in a compound in Barangay Talaba 3 in Bacoor, Cavite on Saturday, June 7.
According to reports, the fire started at 10:40 pm in Paraiso Compound Zone 6 of Barangay Talaba 3 in Bacoor City.
The first alarm was declared at 10:51 pm and the fire spread due to strong winds. A second alarm was raised at around 11:01 pm.
It took more than 3 hours for firefighters to extinguish the blaze.
According to the Bacoor Fire Protection investigator, they are still investigating the possible source of the fire and determining the extent of the damage from the fire.
Meanwhile, the fire victims are currently being housed in temporary shelters in Talaba’s covered court and at Talaba Elementary School. The city’s Social Welfare and Development Office is assisting the families with food and some assorted needs as well. – Rappler.com
