Fisherfolk discover 81 pawikan hatchlings in Calapan

CITY OF CALAPAN — As the sun rose on the final day of 2025, fisherfolk in Barangay Lazareto reported a rare and encouraging wildlife event: the discovery of 81 pawikan hatchlings, or Olive Ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea), along the shoreline early Wednesday.
