Rhian Ramos, Michelle Dee, and Samantha Panlilio

Pilipino Star Ngayon / File

MANILA, Philippines — A former driver of Rhian Ramos on Wednesday, May 13, filed complaints of slight illegal detention, unlawful arrest, and physical injuries against the actress and two of her friends, beauty queens Michelle Dee and Samantha Panlilio.

The issue stems from an incident earlier this year where the said driver, going by the alias "Totoy," claimed he was repeatedly assaulted by the three women.

The three denied the allegations, while another point of contention was whether the driver allegedly stole an "angpao" that contained sensitive photographs.

Last January, Totoy was accompanied by Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) president Arsenio "Boy" Evangelista to file a complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Evangelista again accompanied Totoy on Wednesday, May 13, to file said complaints before the Makati Prosecutor's Office, following a brief visit to the NBI's Homicide Division.

The counsel claimed the complaints were due to the bureau having "strong reasonable certainty of conviction after the case buildup" against Rhian, Michelle, and Samantha.

Evangelista also believes Totoy, after a "heart-to-heart conversation," will not agree to a settlement with the other parties.

"This is all about accountability and justice. Hindi porke may pambayad, pang-settle para mabago buhay ni Totoy," Evangelista said. "For VACC, this will be a very strong message, that it's not about monetary settlement."
