Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos

MANILA, Philippines — Gabbi Garcia expressed how fortunate she was that her longtime partner and fellow actor Khalil Ramos was a very capable "Instagram boyfriend."
The actress, in her capacity as a brand ambassador, attended the recent launch of electronics and smart manufacturing company Xiaomi's new phone series and smart products last May 29 in Taguig.
There Philstar.com asked Gabbi her personal definition of a smart ecosystem and her response was grounded on sustainability, using the prevalence of electric vehicles or EVs as an example.
She also pointed out the need for convenience especially in her capacity as an actress and host, though Philstar.com followed up by asking where do analog devices fit in an intelligent ecosystem.
"It's a matter of preference, for example Khalil loves analog devices," the actress said. "But also the world is rapidly evolving right now, kaya kung hindi ka maga-adapt, puwede kang maiwanan."

Philstar.com also asked Gabbi if Khalil has mastered being an "Instagram boyfriend" — the colloquial term coined for designated, unpaid photographers in a relationship — regardless of what device he uses.
"Ang swerte-swerte ko actually kasi lagi akong may magagandang content and photos because of Khalil," Gabbi laughed. "At the same time also, it's really his passion — taking photos — so whatever he needs, I'm really supportive of him."
Because Xiomi just launched its new 17T series, Gabbi was also asked what feature she was still waiting for smartphones to have.
Gabbi gave it some thought since "everything is so updated now," finally settling on a feature that would automatically filter negativity online.
"[Something where] you can easily curate your phone na mabo-block lahat ng negativity, automatic na ganoon," Gabbi ended. "Feeling ko it will be more peaceful, and better for our mental health."
