MANILA, Philippines — Which VAT on power President Marcos Jr. was referring to?

Energy Secretary Sharon Garin explained that Marcos wants to remove the systems loss charge and the 12% value-added tax imposed on it that charge.

Garin issued the clarification Tuesday, July 28, after Marcos called for amendments to the Electric Power Industry Reform Act, or EPIRA, during his fifth State of the Nation Address on Monday.
