Gilas standout Kai Sotto, actress Rere Madrid get married

MANILA, Philippines–Basketball player Kai Sotto and actress Rere Madrid recently tied the knot.

The couple on Wednesday shared photos and videos from their garden civil wedding in Cavite.

“Still feels unreal that we finally get to call this day ours. (Mr & Mrs Sotto)…Now, we’ll continue chasing our dreams together, hand in hand,” Madrid said in a lengthy Instagram post.

The 24-year-old Sotto, a Gilas Pilipinas standout, is currently a free agent after parting ways with Koshigaya Alphas in the Japan B.League.

Koshigaya finished ninth in the Eastern Conference and missed the playoffs.

Sotto returned to action in January after recovering from an ACL injury and later joined the 1,000-point club in Japan’s premier basketball league.

“Coming back midseason wasn’t easy, but I’m just grateful I got the opportunity to wear a jersey again and compete,” Sotto said in a recent Instagram post.

“No matter how many wins or losses, I never took a single moment for granted.”
