MANILA, Philippines —   Sen. Bong Go on Monday dispatched his team to Santo Tomas, Pampanga to deliver assistance to people displaced by a recent fire incident.

In a video message, Go highlighted Republic Act (RA) 12076 or the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of permanent, safe and well-equipped evacuation centers across the country.

Go said these centers would ensure the dignity and well-being of disaster-affected communities while recovery efforts are being undertaken.

He cited ongoing efforts meant to enhance fire prevention in communities as provided under RA 11589 or the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act, which he principally authored.

During the aid distribution in Barangay San Bartolome, 28 families received financial assistance, water containers, grocery packs, shirts, pens, fans, balls and shoes.

Go gave assurance that he and his team would continue helping the poor, noting that serving the people is tantamount to serving God.
