Gordon Ramsay, the world-renowned multi-Michelin-starred chef and TV personality, is in Manila!
On Monday, the culinary icon held an exclusive event at the Newport Performing Arts Theater which gathered over a thousand industry tastemakers, including F&B leaders, celebrity chefs, food influencers, culinary students, and devoted fans.
In a true Gordon fashion, the event featured a Masterchef-like cooking challenge where celebrity chef Judy Ann Santos, food influencer Ninong Ry, culinary student Danica Lucero, and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill PH Head Chef Bea Therese Qua presented their unique takes on the Philippines' iconic dessert, Halo-Halo, to the legendary chef.
Bearing resemblance to Gordon's signature Knickerbocker Glory, the dishes showcased the fusion of local ingredients and international flavors, highlighting the innovation and skills of Filipino chefs.
In the end of the 10-minute challenge, Gordon picked Danica's Halo-Halo as a standout among the rest and gave her a signed jacket as a reward.
Danica was among the culinary students who were present during the event. Gordon acknowledged them in the beginning of the program and said "they are the future of the culinary" in the Philippines.
In the same event, Gordon said he is looking to open three more restaurants in the country.
The British celebrity chef opened his first restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, in the Philippines in 2024 at the Newport World Resorts.
The restaurant offers a curated selection of rare breed steaks, grilled specialties, fresh market seafood, and Gordon's legendary Beef Wellington.
Gordon is the chef behind several Michelin-starred restaurants, including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in the UK and Le Pressoir d'Argent in Bordeaux. He's opened restaurants worldwide, including Singapore, UAE, and Japan.
