TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Gov. Athena Tolentino has condemned the killing of Naic Mayor-elect Romel Magbitang's community leader on Saturday.
The victim, Shackie Denajiba, a loving husband, father, son, friend, and a community leader, was shot dead in broad daylight in Barangay Sabang in this city.
The gunman sauntered to a motorcycle with a rider who drove casually.
According to Tolentino, "it was a heartless, barbaric, heinous act."
"The election was just over. It's time to unite, not to sow fear and violence. This type of crime is a blatant evil that has no place in our province," said Tolentino.

"This incident, along with several other killings and crimes in our province, must stop. Immediate and proper action from the police is needed," Tolentino said in her social media post on Monday.
The governor also called on Cavite PNP provincial director Col. Dwight Alegre and Naic PNP chief LtCol. Resty Soriano to act and fulfill their duties.
"Those behind this crime must be held accountable. Mere reporting is not enough. What the people need is protection, action, and justice. We will not allow fear to prevail in our community," she said.
"We must stand with courage and determination for justice. We will not give up until true justice and peace are achieved," the governor said as she called for an immediate action from the Cavite PNP to investigate the killing of Denajiba.
