IN a city often defined by congestion and concrete, Greenfield District in Mandaluyong is steadily carving out a niche for itself as a master-planned community where health, movement, and green living naturally converge.

Over the past few years, this metro hub has organically evolved into a unique urban environment, proving that wellness is not just a luxury but an achievable way of life.

Strategically nestled at the intersection of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City, and extending toward Reliance and Sheridan streets, the 15-hectare Greenfield District offers accessibility without sacrificing serenity.

Its proximity to schools, hospitals, fitness studios, and key commercial centers makes it a natural choice for city dwellers that are looking to integrate wellness into their daily routines.

What distinguishes Greenfield District is the way it seamlessly blends the built environment with open, green spaces.

At its heart is Central Park, an urban green space that invites people of all ages to breathe, move, and gather.

Runners have also found a home in Greenfield. Its tree-lined sidewalks and car-free routes are ideal for morning and evening jogs, drawing around a thousand runners daily.

Given it’s growing number of daily runners, Greenfield District recently launched the Greenfield Runners program, a free weekly gathering held every Tuesday at 7 p.m., where participants can join 3-kilometer or 5-kilometer runs guided by pacers and supported by a welcoming fitness community.

For those in search of more dynamic workouts, the district is home to a range of specialized facilities such as Climb Central for climbing enthusiasts, Obstacle Central for functional fitness training, and Play Padel with its five indoor-outdoor courts open until midnight.

Gameville Ball Park, fencing classes, taekwondo, and studio sessions for Pilates and yoga round out the district’s diverse wellness offerings, accommodating a spectrum of fitness levels and interests.

More than just venues for exercise, these hubs serve as spaces where individuals can connect, support one another, and build relationships, further enhancing the community’s overall social well-being.

Weekend schedules are equally vibrant. Community workouts, dance fitness, jump rope, and rope flow sessions are regularly held at designated open-air zones such as Mayflower Street and Central Park.

These events are free and open to all, reinforcing the district’s goal to make wellness not only accessible but also inclusive.

“At Greenfield District, we are committed to creating an environment where wellness is part of the everyday experience for Greenfield District Community,” said Duane Santos, president and chief operating officer of Greenfield Development Corp. “By putting social wellness at the center of our ethos as a developer, through offering free community programs and maintaining open, accessible spaces, we aim to make it easier for everyone to embrace a healthier lifestyle.”

The implementation of Car-Free Sundays has further enhanced the appeal of the area, allowing cyclists, skaters, and walkers to take over the streets in a safe and friendly environment.

Complementing its active lifestyle is a uniquely curated mix of cafés, restaurants, and bake shops found at The Hub and The Portal.

These dining spots serve as meeting places for the community, where runners grab post-run smoothies, yogis sip morning brews, and families gather after playdates.

The energy remains light, dynamic, and people-focused, mirroring the vision of the district’s master planners.
