MANILA, Philippines — Gwyneth Paltrow's casual cooking of pork tocino for breakfast has delighted her Filipino fans, local celebrities included.

In an Instagram Reels video posted on April 6, Paltrow is seen preparing her ingredients — even marinating pork slices — and making cauliflower rice. She completed the meal with fried eggs, resembling the popular Filipino breakfast combo tosilog.

Paltrow captioned the post: "Tried my hand at making pork tocino this morning — sweet, savory, and incredibly flavorful. Brad requested cauliflower rice for a carb light #boyfriendbreakfast."

The actress and entrepreneur was referring to her husband of six years, TV writer, director and producer Brad Falchuk.

Some netizens doubted whether the dish truly referenced the popular Filipino breakfast. After all, Spain and Latin American countries have versions of tocino, typically referring to cured pork fat similar to bacon.

However, at the start of the video, Paltrow showed that she was following a pork tocino recipe from "The New York Times Cooking."

Written by professional cook and recipe developer Romel Bruno, the recipe begins with the line: "In the Philippines, tocino is a sweet, cured pork dish that is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Though the term 'tocino' comes from the Spanish word for bacon, in the Philippines, the dish can be made from chicken or beef as well."

The Reels video has already gained more than 2 million views, 70,000 likes and thousands of comments — including from Filipino celebrities.

Actress Carla Abellana commented, "Wow! One of our Filipino favorite breakfasts!" while actress Mylene Dizon simply wrote, "Tocilog!"

Some netizens also encouraged Paltrow to try cooking other Filipino favorites like adobo, sinigang and more.
