The Jurong Rock Caverns show how Singapore's foresight makes up for its lack of natural resources

The war in the Middle East is testing the world’s energy security, particularly its degree of dependence on fossil fuels. As countries scrambled to strike deals with Iran for their oil shipments’ safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, one tiny country remained nonchalant.

Although it has no domestic source of crude oil, Singapore has devised a way to ensure its own fuel reserves. It’s a testament to the prudence of the tiny country’s leaders, something Filipinos might understandably envy.
