 Local lessons from global cycling

What can Filipinos learn from foreign cyclists?

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – The MPTC Tour of Luzon has concluded after 14 stages of racing across the island of Luzon.

Thirteen teams competed across more than 1,800 kilometers, with Russian cyclist Nikita Shulchenko emerging as the overall winner.

As the races come to an end, HOMESTRETCH host Pató Gregorio speaks with French cyclist Antoine Huby, who finished second in the individual general classification and won the King of the Mountain for after dominating the climbs.

Gregorio also talks with Filipino cyclist Mervin Corpuz, one of the fastest local riders in this year’s tour.

Sportscaster and coach Allan Gregorio also joins his brother in this episode to discuss what this year’s edition means for Philippine cycling and how the presence of foreign teams and cyclists could help elevate competition in the country.

HOMESTRETCH tells stories of people whose struggles and triumphs inspire others, along with the places that help define the Filipino spirit.
