Huawei has officially unveiled the HUAWEI Mate X6, its latest flagship foldable smartphone.
With AI-powered photography and a sleek design, the Mate X6 aims to push the envelope in foldable phone technology, offering a more durable, multitasking-friendly device aimed at users who need performance on the go.
The new device is set to be available for pre-order from January 17 through January 30, 2025.
Built for durability
The Mate X6 introduces several durability enhancements, including a 2nd-generation KUNLUN Glass exterior that is reportedly 25 times more drop-resistant than standard glass.
The interior screen benefits from a carbon fiber reinforcement that offers exceptional strength, designed to withstand the repeated folding and unfolding typical of foldable devices.
An aviation-grade aluminum middle frame and a robust hinge made from 1900MPa ultra-high strength steel further improve the phone’s ability to survive everyday wear and tear.
In terms of cooling, the Mate X6 incorporates an innovative system that separates heat sources for better dissipation, ensuring stable performance even during intensive tasks like gaming or streaming.
The device also boasts a two-meter IPX8 water resistance rating, adding another layer of protection against a sudden downpour or splashing around the pool.
A premium look with practical performance
At just 239g and 9.85mm thick when folded, the Mate X6 offers a sleek and lightweight profile without compromising on durability.
Its premium design is complemented by a unique Space-Age Orbit camera setup and a vegan fiber finish, while the rounded, soft quad-curve frame ensures a comfortable grip.
Camera and multi-tasking features
On the camera front, the Mate X6 doesn’t disappoint. It features a 50MP Ultra Aperture Camera, 40MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto micro camera, capable of capturing everything from wide landscapes to detailed close-ups.
The device also introduces a “Live Multi-Task” feature, enabling users to run up to three apps simultaneously on its large, unfolded display, which is aimed at boosting productivity for users on the move.

The HUAWEI Mate X6 will be available in Nebula Red and Black, retailing at PHP 114,999.
