Back in April, Infinix launched the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro and shortly after that, TECNO unveiled the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G.
Both devices are at a similar price point, but which one is the right phone for you? We’re gonna answer that here in this comparison review. Let’s see which phone best suits your needs.
Design and Construction
When it comes to smartphones, design and construction aren’t just about looks—they play a key role in usability, durability, and everyday satisfaction. In the case of the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G and Infinix NOTE 50 Pro, both devices bring distinct visual and structural identities to the table.
The CAMON 40 Pro 5G debuts a more refined and minimalist look compared to its predecessor, replacing its large circular camera bump with a cleaner, vertically aligned sensor setup—though curiously, only two of the three lenses are functional, but we’ll get into that later.
It sports a two-tone design with a matte-like finish and a sleek metal frame, with the overall aesthetic reportedly inspired by the curve of a swan’s neck. At just 7.29mm thick and weighing 179 grams, the phone is impressively thin and light.
Curved front and rear panels enhance both grip and comfort, while Gorilla Glass 7i offers screen protection. Additionally, the CAMON 40 Pro 5G is IP68 and IP69 certified, giving it a notable edge in dust and water resistance—features rarely found in this price segment.
A standout physical feature is the new One-Tap FlashSnap button on the left side, a customizable key for launching the camera, activating voice assistants, or triggering other actions.
On the other hand, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro opts for a bold, more rugged approach. Its design shifts away from the rectangular camera bump of last year’s model to a distinctive octagonal module that gives the rear a commanding presence. The device features a unique ArmorAlloy metal frame, adding durability and a premium touch that’s unmatched in its price category.
Though slightly heavier at 198 grams, the added weight underscores the phone’s solid construction. Its glass front is resistant to wet or greasy fingerprints, enhancing usability in everyday scenarios. While it doesn’t mention specific IP ratings or Gorilla Glass protection, the NOTE 50 Pro’s build quality speaks to resilience and longevity.
It comes bundled with a 90W fast charger—something increasingly uncommon in today’s smartphone boxes—and boasts design variants such as Enchanted Purple and Titanium Grey that cater to users looking for a bit of flair.
Ultimately, the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G leans toward elegance and functionality, with refined curves, water resistance, and lightweight design, while the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro focuses on toughness and visual impact with a rugged frame and bold styling. The choice between them comes down to what you value more: sleek sophistication or standout durability.
Display, Multimedia, and Biometrics
Both the TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G and the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro offer compelling visual and entertainment experiences, though they approach it with subtle differences that might sway readers based on their preferences.
Each phone is equipped with a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display at Full HD+ resolution, delivering vibrant colors, deep blacks, and rich contrast. Both panels also share a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring that everything from scrolling through social feeds to gaming feels fast and fluid. The CAMON 40 Pro does slightly pull ahead in its brightness as it reaches up to 1600 nits, while the NOTE 40 Pro hits 1300 nits. It isn’t too big of a difference though.
The CAMON 40 Pro 5G adds a touch of flair with its curved display edges, creating an immersive, high-end feel when holding and viewing content. However, these curved edges can sometimes be a double-edged sword; while they enhance aesthetics, they may introduce slight distortion at the screen’s periphery, particularly noticeable when watching videos or gaming in landscape mode.
In contrast, the flat display of the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro avoids such issues and offers a cleaner, distortion-free viewing experience with ultra-thin bezels that contribute to its sleek, modern look.
When it comes to audio, the NOTE 50 Pro holds a clear advantage with its dual stereo speakers tuned by JBL, delivering crisp and well-balanced sound with impressive clarity in the highs and mids. Although the bass could be punchier, the overall audio quality provides an engaging experience whether you’re watching videos or gaming.
Meanwhile, the CAMON 40 Pro 5G’s stereo speakers are serviceable but don’t quite reach the same audio depth or loudness, lacking some bass presence.
The TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G features an optical in-display fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the screen, complemented by face unlock—both of which are fast and reliable in daily use. The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro matches this with its own in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock, offering equally quick and secure authentication. Neither device presents major drawbacks in this area, ensuring smooth, hassle-free access.
In the end, the choice between these two devices comes down to trade-offs: the CAMON 40 Pro 5G leans into immersive visuals with its curved display and Dolby Atmos support (albeit with less powerful speakers), while the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro prioritizes practical clarity with its brighter flat screen and superior JBL-tuned audio.
But for this article, we’re gonna have to give the point to the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro as the speakers are tuned by JBL and are louder than the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro.
Cameras
Spec-wise, the cameras on the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G and Infinix NOTE 50 Pro might look alike, but in practice, they perform quite differently.
The CAMON 40 Pro 5G is equipped with a dual rear setup, combining a 50-megapixel main sensor with an 8-megapixel ultrawide. While the hardware may look like a downgrade from its predecessor—which previously included a higher-resolution ultrawide and an extra macro lens—the main sensor still holds its ground.
In use, the CAMON 40 Pro 5G delivers crisp, detailed images with impressive clarity and a natural color profile that avoids the oversaturation often found in phones at this price point. The ultrawide lens is serviceable in good lighting but struggles under challenging conditions, showing a noticeable dip in quality.
You also get a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus with the CAMON 40 Pro which is a rare inclusion for mid-range devices. Selfies come out sharp and well-balanced, maintaining the same natural color tones as the rear camera.

On the other hand, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro also sports a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor paired with an 8-megapixel secondary lens and a flicker sensor.
In good lighting, the NOTE 50 Pro can produce pleasant images with decent clarity and fairly accurate colors, though its dynamic range is a bit limited, sometimes causing shadows to lose detail in high-contrast scenes. Low-light photography reveals the camera’s limits, with softer textures, reduced color vibrancy, and weaker dynamic range overall. Its 32-megapixel front camera is competent for casual use, though it falls behind the CAMON’s autofocus-enabled selfie shooter.

For video, the NOTE 50 Pro maxes out at 2K at 30fps on both front and rear cameras, with electronic image stabilization (EIS) only available at 1080p. While it captures usable footage, the lack of optical or stronger stabilization means handheld shots can be shaky without extra support.
Meanwhile, the CAMON supports recording at 4K at 30fps on the rear and 1080p at 30fps on the front, with additional creative modes like a dual-video feature for simultaneous front and back capture—adding versatility for vloggers or content creators.
In the end, the CAMON 40 Pro 5G edges out the NOTE 50 Pro in overall camera performance, offering better photo consistency, a superior selfie camera with autofocus, and higher-resolution video recording with added creative features. With that, the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro gets the point here, balancing the comparison so far.
Performance
Now, let’s talk about performance. The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate, a chip launched in August 2024 that clocks up to 2.2GHz, paired with a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU. While not a flagship-level processor, it holds its own for casual gaming and daily tasks, delivering smooth gameplay in titles like Call of Duty Mobile at medium settings without any noticeable heating issues.
What really gives the Infinix an edge is its generous 12GB of RAM out of the box, expandable up to 24GB with virtual RAM. This is a standout at this price point that keeps multitasking seamless even with demanding apps.
The TECNO Camon 40 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM (expandable via MemFusion). It achieves respectable numbers in benchmarks, hitting around 690,000 on AnTuTu, making it capable enough for general use and light gaming.
However, when pushed with more demanding titles like Zenless Zone Zero or Wuthering Waves, both devices start to show their limits. Medium graphics settings are the ceiling before performance dips kick in, and pushing beyond that introduces noticeable lag and stutters, particularly during intense animations or boss fights.
In everyday use and casual gaming, both devices perform admirably. But for users looking for a bit more headroom in multitasking and smoother performance in gaming scenarios, especially given the higher RAM ceiling and cooler thermals during extended play, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro carves out a slight advantage. Because of this, they get the point for us here in this segment.

OS, Apps, and UI
Both the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro and TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G run on Android 15, but each device brings its own custom UI and AI features that differentiate the user experience.
The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro runs XOS 15, offering a relatively clean interface with minimal bloatware out of the box. It comes with Folax, Infinix’s AI assistant, which can perform voice commands, extract text, and summarize documents. Additionally, it offers handy functions like Folax Smart Touch, which allows you to interact with content on the screen through gestures or a dedicated button.
AI Screen Recognition can also be used to extract text or images, and with the AI Image Search, you can quickly locate photos by describing them instead of manually scrolling through your gallery.
Other features like Circle to Search, AI Wallpaper Generator, and AI Cutout further enhance the device’s versatility, making it a solid choice for users who want a mix of productivity and convenience.
The TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G operates on HiOS 15, offering a similarly minimalist and user-friendly experience with minimal bloatware. TECNO’s standout feature here is Ella, its AI assistant. Ella can recognize content on the screen, extract text, and respond to voice commands, much like Infinix’s Folax.
However, the CAMON 40 Pro also comes with a more specialized set of AI assistants, such as those for Call, Translation, Document, and Writing. You can even convert sketches into digital notes and transcribe recordings into text for summaries.
Similar to the Infinix device, the CAMON 40 Pro includes Circle to Search, AI Wallpaper Generator, and even a Suggestions Widget for a more personalized experience.
In terms of AI capabilities, both phones have a lot in common, with intelligent content recognition and voice command features. They both offer a streamlined, AI-enhanced experience, making them both get a point here.
Connectivity and Battery Life
When it comes to battery performance, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro really shines. It packs a 5,200mAh battery and supports an impressive 90W FastCharge for wired charging, along with 30W for wireless. This is pretty unheard of for a phone under 12K, making the NOTE 50 Pro a standout in terms of fast charging in its price range.
When it comes to charging, it went from 20% to full in under an hour, so there’s hardly any waiting around. In our PCMark Battery Test, it scored 13 hours and 6 minutes.
On the other hand, the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G also comes with a 5,200mAh battery, but it supports 45W fast charging via USB Type-C. Charging from 0% to 100% takes about 46 minutes, which is very fast, though slightly slower than the NOTE 50 Pro’s 90W.
Battery life on the CAMON 40 Pro is still solid, with a PCMark Battery Test result of 14 hours and 26 minutes.
Connectivity is another area where both phones are quite similar, offering dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC for mobile payments or smart home use.
The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro includes an IR Blaster for controlling smart home devices, which is a nice touch not found on the CAMON 40 Pro. Meanwhile, the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro already offers 5G at this price point while the NOTE 50 Pro used here is the 4G variant. Call quality on both devices works well, with no complaints in either case.
Price and Verdict
When comparing the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro and TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G, both devices offer strong value for their price.
The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro delivers better overall performance, especially when it comes to demanding tasks. Its 144Hz AMOLED display provides a smooth fluid experience, while its 90W fast charging support is a notable advantage, getting you back up to 100% much faster than the 45W charging on the CAMON 40 Pro.
On the other hand, the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G excels in camera quality, featuring a 50MP main sensor, an ultrawide lens, and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera, offering detailed, natural shots, especially in well-lit conditions.
While the NOTE 50 Pro also has a solid 50MP main camera, it doesn’t quite match the CAMON 40 Pro’s versatility in terms of ultra-wide shots.
In terms of battery life, the CAMON 40 Pro holds up well, outperforming the NOTE 50 Pro in PCMark’s battery test, although the NOTE 50 Pro compensates with its faster charging speeds.
Ultimately, while both phones provide excellent performance, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro emerges as the stronger option for those prioritizing speed and next-gen AI features.
However, if camera versatility and battery endurance are more important to you, the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G remains a competitive choice. Your decision will depend on which aspects of a smartphone matter most to you, but both offer solid performance at an affordable price point.
That being said, the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro is available for PHP 11,999. Meanwhile, the TECNO CAMON 40 Pro 5G actually costs PHP 12,999 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It’s also available for PHP 14,999 with 12GB of RAM instead.
