Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
1. Do I need to answer all the questions in the form?
Some basic information (like age and location) is required so we can send you surveys that are relevant to you. The rest is optional — but the more we know about you, the better we can match you with surveys that fit you best.
2. What is an omnibus survey?
An omnibus survey is a regular, multi-topic survey that collects insights from a group of people. Different partners can add their own questions, making it efficient and wide-ranging. For example, we are running a Youth Omnibus and a Parents Omnibus to understand what’s important to these groups and how their opinions evolve over time.
3. If I join the survey panel, what’s in it for me?
You get to support Rappler’s journalism and help us understand what our readers think about a variety of topics and issues. When you complete our surveys, you can even get a chance to win rewards like product vouchers down the line.
4. What if I want to leave the panel later on?
You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us at privacy@rappler.com. You will stop receiving survey invitations and communication from us.
5. How often will I be asked to take surveys?
We’ll reach out only when a survey fits your profile. Omnibus surveys happen every quarter, but you might also receive invitations for special or one-time surveys in between. Taking surveys is always optional.
6. Who are the surveys for?
Some surveys are created by Rappler for research on social issues, public opinion, or trends. Others may be for partner brands, NGOs, or institutions who work with us. Either way, your personal information is never shared — only anonymized and aggregated insights are.
7. Why is Rappler, a newsroom, doing this?
We want to understand our audience, readers, and the society we serve better. By gathering real feedback from readers like you, we can tell more accurate stories, advocate for meaningful issues, and offer this data to organizations working for the public good. It’s also a way for supporters to help sustain our work.
8. How long are the surveys?
Surveys usually take around 10 to 15 minutes, with 5 to 20 questions depending on the topic.
9. Can I join if I’m not from Metro Manila?
Yes! The panel is open to participants from all over the Philippines. In fact, we welcome diverse voices from different regions.
10. Is there an age requirement to join?
You must be at least 18 years old to join the panel. We may also have special panels in the future for younger participants, with proper consent.
11. Will joining the panel cost me anything?
No. Joining is completely free. You’ll never be asked to pay to take a survey.
12. Can I invite friends or family to join the panel?
Yes! Feel free to share the sign-up link. The more perspectives we gather, the better.
We’re building a survey community — a group of people we regularly invite to share their opinions on important topics through short surveys. If you sign up, here’s what will happen:
- Tell us about yourself – We’ll ask a few questions so we can get to know you better. This helps us match you with the right surveys. The more details you provide, the more surveys you might qualify for.
- Wait for our invite – When there’s a survey that fits your profile, we’ll send you an invite via email or SMS.
- Take surveys, earn rewards – After completing a survey, you can get a chance to redeem rewards like product or cash vouchers. Some surveys are just for insight, but others will be incentivized.
You can take part as often or as little as you want — and yes, it’s free to join.
