iPhone 17 Air Debuts as Apple’s Thinnest Smartphone Yet

Apple is set to unveil its slimmest iPhone to date, the iPhone 17 Air, in September 2025. With a chassis measuring just 5.5mm thick, this model significantly undercuts the iPhone 17 Pro’s 8.725mm profile, marking a bold step in Apple’s design evolution.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion technology, offering a balance between size and performance. To achieve its ultra-thin form, Apple has opted for a single 48MP rear camera housed in a horizontal bar, a departure from the multi-lens setups of its predecessors. This design choice, while streamlining the device’s profile, may limit certain photographic capabilities.​

Under the hood, the device is rumored to be powered by Apple’s A19 chip and will include the company’s proprietary C1 5G modem, supporting sub-6GHz bands.
