MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday offered a reward of P500,000 and witness protection to the accomplice of the gunman who killed his former security escort in Tondo on Sunday.

If the motorcycle rider surrenders within 48 hours, he will receive the money and protection, Moreno said on Facebook Live.

The Manila Police District is tracking down the motorcycle-riding killers of George Capistrano, 56, a retired police officer.

Moreno believes that the suspects are members of a robbery group operating in Metro Manila.

He also urged the accomplice’s family to encourage the suspect to surrender.

Moreno condoled with the family of Capistrano and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
