MANILA, Philippines — Isuzu Philippines Corp. maintained its position as the leading truck brand in the country as it captured over 40 percent of the market in the first four months of the year.
In a statement yesterday, IPC said it secured a 43 percent truck market share from January to April, having sold 1,592 truck units, based on the joint report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and the Truck Manufacturers Association Inc.
The Isuzu N-Series accounted for the bulk of total truck sales, with 905 units sold from January to April, up by 7.2 percent year-on-year.
The Isuzu N-Series is a popular choice for those engaged in the logistics and delivery business due to its versatility and ease of use.
This was followed by Isuzu medium-duty trucks, which posted a 2.4 percent year-on-year increase in sales to 545 units in the January to April period.
Used for long-haul routes, the Isuzu medium-duty trucks are designed to fit different body applications and equipped with additional driver safety features.
Meanwhile, sales of Isuzu heavy-duty trucks accelerated by 59 percent year-on-year to 142 units in the January to April period.
IPC attributed the strong sales performance of heavy-duty trucks to demand coming from infrastructure projects and local government units.
“Our continued leadership in the truck market reflects the brand’s unwavering commitment to delivering vehicles that truly work for our customers. Owning an Isuzu truck means investing in a product that is proven to last longer, perform more efficiently and cost less to maintain over time,” IPC president Mikio Tsukui said.
Beyond providing quality trucks that help businesses stay competitive, he said IPC also has an after-sales support available nationwide to ensure seamless access to products and services and reduce downtime.
“With this strong start to 2025, we are optimistic about maintaining this momentum through the rest of the year. We are confident that our combination of product excellence and customer support will help us retain our position as the number one truck brand in the Philippines,” he said.
Last year, IPC reached a milestone as it marked 25 years as the country’s top truck brand.
IPC’s total truck sales reached 4,591 units last year, capturing 41 percent of the truck market.
