MANILA, Philippines — A Japanese developer of electronic learning tools has entered the Philippines to offer educational solutions aimed at preparing students for the new future of work.
E-learning innovator LearningBOX is entering the country in the hope of bridging the skills gap of Filipinos, especially in technology, in a time when artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging.
LearningBOX partnered with startup incubator TechShake to introduce learning tools that aim to prepare Filipinos for new workplace standards in a digital-first era.
For educators, LearningBOX can provide specific solutions for digital assessment that are easy to use, secured and standardized. These tools also integrate the best practices in a digital-focused workplace, promising to develop learners that are adept to the new age.
In particular, LearningBOX aims to harp on Filipinos’ primary talents in English proficiency and hospitality work. The company is importing learning infrastructure that is accessible to Filipinos and verifiable by employers through tests.
The partnership entered into with TechShake also improves cross-border innovation between the Japanese and Philippine markets, ensuring that learning standards respond to the market demand.
LearningBOX hopes that in collaboration with TechShake, it can team up with local institutions in extending educational tools that prioritize data security and rigorous testing.
It also promises to deliver high-quality exams and best-in-class modules that would place Filipinos on a par with, if not ahead of, competitors in the job market.
LearningBOX director Shintaro Nishimura said it is crucial for Filipinos to upskill themselves in the digital era. He believes that Filipinos can capitalize on their technology use to prepare ahead of the curve by learning new skills.
“This strategic signing represents an important milestone for LearningBox and TechShake, [as] it reinforces our commitment to building purpose-driven partnerships that support the evolution of learning and development. We signal a shared vision to collaboratively empower individuals and organizations through innovative, accessible and future-oriented learning solutions,” he said.
LearningBOX allows clients to build training programs and exams that can be used to expand the skill sets of their workers, as industries shake up in the advent of AI.
Moreover, it can be incorporated in educational institutions as a way to upgrade remote learning, particularly as schools have started shifting to hybrid classes since the pandemic.
