MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo had no knowledge that her mother Min was among the executive producers of a surprise hit in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival "Unmarry."
The film stars Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo as two individuals trying to undergo anullment in their respective marriages.
Patricia Sumagui is the sole credit producer while Min is an executive producer alongside Atty. Joji Alonso and Gilmer Roque.
Kathryn and her family recently held a special screening of "Unmarry" at a Quezon City mall last Wednesday, December 31.
In a report by PEP, Min mentioned that she and Kathryn never about the former being one of the film's executive producers, with Kathryn only learning about Min's involvement after a reading a post by Atty. Joji.
"Ay, no! Hindi niya alam," Min said. "“Nagulat nga siya, eh. Even [si] Ria [Atayde], nagulat."

Kathryn echoed her mother's comments, "Oo! Nakakagulat siya! Nagulat nga din ako, e. Na-surprise."
Min also expressed for the box office returns of "Unmarry" and how it fared at the recently concluded Gabi ng Parangal.
"So far… nanghinayang lang ako kay Angge. Well, anyway ganun talaga. May nanalo, may natatalo," Min added, referring to Angelica's Best Actress loss to "I'mPerfect" star Krystel Go.
"Unmarry" won seven awards, the most behind "Manila's Finest," including Second Best Picture, Best Director for Jeffrey Jeturian, and Best Supporting Actor for Tom Rodriguez.
The film's other recognitions were Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Float (shared with "Manila's Finest"), and the special Breakthrough Performance Award for Zack Sibug.
