MANILA, Philippines — KFC Philippines continues to strengthen its commitment to more sustainable restaurant operations, with 87 locations nationwide now equipped with solar panels.

Since beginning its solar journey in 2019, KFC has generated nearly 9.9 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy, helping reduce approximately 2,331 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

To put that environmental impact into perspective, the reduction is equivalent to the carbon absorbed by about 38,850 urban tree seedlings grown for 10 years, making the impact of KFC’s shift to renewable energy easier to visualize.

The program continues to deliver meaningful environmental benefits. From January to September, KFC’s solar installations generated more than two million kWh of renewable energy, reducing approximately 471 metric tons of CO2 emissions.

Together with Motolite Energy Solutions, its renewable energy partner, KFC Philippines continues to scale the adoption of solar power across its restaurant network, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and helping lower the environmental impact of its operations.

From its first solar installation in 2019 to its growing solar footprint today, KFC Philippines continues to expand the use of renewable energy across its network – turning more restaurant rooftops into sources of cleaner energy and creating a greater positive impact on the environment.
