MANILA, Philippines — Korean rapper Choi Seung-hyun, best known as T.O.P and a former member of the boy band BigBang, teased fans with the release of new music after over a decade.
T.O.P confirmed a new album was in the works after posting a video on his Instagram account.
The video sees a man, likely the artist, writing on paper "TOP SPOT" and "Another Dimension," the latter also in Korean characters.
"A new album is on the way," T.O.P wrote in his post's captions, exciting many fans.
The rapper has not released solo music since his 2013 digital single "Doom Dada." The upcoming release would also mark his first piece music since departing BigBang in 2023.
T.O.P stepped away from limelight after being involved in a drug scandal as well as to undergo Korea's mandatory military service.
He made his acting comeback in the second season of "Squid Game" as a retired rapper battling addiction, a casting choice that divided viewers, having not starred onscreen since the 2017 film "Out of Control."
BigBang, meanwhile, is marking its 20th anniversary this year with the three remaining members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung performing at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The group was supposed to perform at the 2020 edition but it was cancelled due to the pandemic.
