MANILA, Philippines — Host-actress Kris Aquino shared another brief update about her health while offering encouragement for oldest son Josh after his name was dragged into controversey earlier this month.
It can be recalled that last October 5, the hosts of the "Machong Chismisan" podcast made rude comments on Josh, who is on the autism spectrum.
The episode drew huge backlash online leading to its takedown and the podcast's cancellation, with numerous personalities quick to call out the hosts' remarks.
The hosts have since been subpoenaed by the National Bureau of Investigation, with agency director Melvin Matibag floating the possibility of violations against the Magna Carta for Persons with Disability and with cyber libel.
Kris briefly addressed the issue in an Instagram post, simply calling the remarks "irresponsible and uninformed opinions."
The "Queen of All Media" posted again on the platform, this time a short health update accompanying a photo of her with Josh.
The host-actress shared that she and Josh had both been bitten by the eye by some inspect, expressing gratitude to the family of good friend Anne Binay for housing Josh whenever Kris' health dips.
"Whenever you're sad, remember that for a few days 98% of the Philippines stood with you? We have been so blessed," Kris told Josh. "I made a promise, I will stay honest but I will always have faith and I won't give up."
According to Kris, two major organs of hers "need more attention" and two autoimmune diseases "that can just attack out of nowhere."
She thanked fans and followers for their prayers and good wishes, reiterating faith in divine will for her, Josh, and youngest son Bimby.
"I love all of you who take time to write comments full of hope and happiness. What I appreciate most is when you say I inspire you to not give up," Kris said. "We are all tested, we all have trials but God loves us — for as long as we remember that, our hearts can remain peaceful."
Kris ended her health update sharing that her heart has learned to embrace contentment and gratitude the last five years when she began suffering bouts of autoimmune diseases.
