MANILA, Philippines — Kylie Jenner caused a stir online after wearing a $50-million (P3.1 billion) diamond-studded bra during her debut at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Kylie strutted the runway for the first time alongside Victoria's Secret veterans such as Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jasmine Tookes and Irina Shayk, wearing a diamond-encrusted bustier at the Los Angeles show over the weekend.

In a Vogue report, the Fantasy Bra was described as featuring 4,410 natural diamonds surrounding a 75.54-carat radiant-cut Fancy Vivid yellow diamond. Fifteen craftspeople worked on the Fantasy Bra for 1,000 hours, and the finished product weighs just under four pounds.

Victoria's Secret chief creative officer Adam Selman was quoted in the Vogue report as saying that the Fantasy Bra was one of the most requested elements from last year's show. He said they picked Jenner, a member of the famous Kardashian-Jenner TV family, because she is a "cultural powerhouse."

‘Why not an OG angel’

Kylie was not the only showbiz baby who strutted the runway last weekend. The Hadid sisters, Gigi and Bella, were again present in this edition. Kobe Bryant's daughter, Natalia, was also featured in the PINK segment of the show.

But Kylie's catwalk drew much of the attention because she wore an item that many Victoria's Secret fans said rightfully belonged to an original Angel.

A user on X pointed out that OG Angels such as Adriana, Alessandra and Candice Swanepoel all waited years before getting their turn to wear the brand's iconic Fantasy Bra.

It's like wearing the ultimate crown that made you AN ICON, an angel… so yeah I'm mad," the user tweeted.

Another user picked model Anok Yai as the one who should have had her turn to wear the iconic bra.

"So Kylie Jenner gets to wear the $22 million fantasy bra at the Victoria's Secret fashion show 2026, but this should've been ANOK YAI," the X user wrote.

Similar sentiments were echoed on Threads.

"No hate, but the OG Victoria's Secret Angels had to wait years to wear the Fantasy Bra, and Kylie gets it on her debut despite not even being an Angel? Money and influence really do open doors. Sorry, but I kennot," one Threads user said.

Another Threads user wrote, "I have nothing against Kylie Jenner, but putting her in the Fantasy Bra instead of a career runway model was such a missed opportunity. Victoria's Secret already had the attention. What it needed was to restore the prestige of being an Angel."

Sunday's show featured a bevy of OG Angels as the lingerie show continued its comeback, which began in 2024.

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was among the guests at the show, while Filipino-British model Christina Nadin became the second Filipina to grace the Victoria's Secret runway after Kelsey Merritt's historic catwalk.
