MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo Lacson has brushed off what he described as Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano’s attempt to deflect brewing investigations against him.
Instead of a probe into questionable projects in his political stronghold of Taguig, Cayetano suggested that Lacson should be the one facing an inquiry for using his position to target critics.
Flagging illegal reclamation activities in portions of Laguna de Bay and infrastructure projects in Taguig, Lacson asserted that the pushback is a result of his efforts to expose corrupt public officials.
Lacson earlier proposed the forfeiture of illegally reclaimed areas.
