MANILA, Philippines — Land Bank of the Philippines will waive convenience fees on select online government transactions for the rest of the year, providing financial relief to Filipinos facing global economic pressures.

From June 1 to Dec. 31, the state-run lender will charge no fees on eligible person-to-government transactions made via QRPh.

Landbank president and CEO Lynette Ortiz said the initiative is meant to make government services more affordable and convenient amid economic challenges, while promoting digital adoption.

“Landbank is waiving fees for online government payments to make services more accessible, while bringing more Filipinos into the digital financial ecosystem. This supports our broader goal of advancing financial inclusion and delivering services that are more responsive to the needs of the public,” she said.

The initiative covers payments coursed through its three QRPh-enabled payment channels, such as the Landbank Link.BizPortal via QRPh option, QRPh standees at government offices and agency websites, where Landbank Link.BizPortal via QRPh is the chosen payment mode.

The waiver applies to fees by participating agencies, including select national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units, water districts and state universities and colleges.

This supports payments for documents such as police clearance, real property taxes, business permits, apostille certificates and other dues.

Other payment channels aside from QRPh and merchant-imposed charges remain unchanged.

“Landbank’s zero convenience fees for online government payments provide convenient access to essential public transactions at no additional cost. Transacting with government agencies online is now more affordable,” Finance Secretary and Landbank chair Frederick Go said.

The rollout forms part of the government’s broader response to rising costs and global economic challenges under the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food and Transport (UPLIFT) Program.

It also complements Landbank’s recent cut in InstaPay transfer fees to P8 from P15, as part of efforts to reduce transaction costs and push digital adoption.

Landbank earlier reported that it processed a total of 800.26 million digital transactions worth P4.41 trillion last year, a 30-percent increase in transaction value from 2024.
