MANILA — A lawyer in the Philippines said on Tuesday he had filed a petition with the Supreme Court on behalf of ex-President Rodrigo Duterte and his former police chief seeking to compel authorities to stop cooperating with the International Criminal Court.

Lawyer Israelito Torreon confirmed to Reuters the petition had been filed. It came after the arrest on Tuesday of Duterte on an ICC warrant.
