MANILA, Philippines — Motherhood may be deeply personal, but it doesn’t have to be faced alone. This was the message behind Cetaphil Baby’s Mother’s Day event, “Let’s Mom Together: Shared Stories and Expert Care,” on May 6 at Terraza Martinez in Taguig.

The gathering brought together moms, celebrity parents and a pediatric expert for an afternoon of honest conversations and community.

It also marked the launch of Club Baby MD—MD, which is short for “Mother and Doctor”— a support community designed to give moms access to trusted experts, safe spaces and practical guidance through every stage of parenthood.

Club Baby MD lets moms gain access to essentials that can keep them grounded in the “transformative” period of motherhood. It has expert health professionals that one can trust, a support group for both first-time and seasoned moms, and a safe space where there is no judgment.

It also offers access to exclusive events, promos and member-only discounts for Cetaphil Baby.

Supporting moms every step of the way

Opening the event, Cetaphil Head of Marketing Abe Mationg highlighted the brand’s mission to support mothers through both the joys and uncertainties of parenting.

“Today, we are helping each and every mom, especially first-time moms and expecting moms to ride through the joys of motherhood, the anxieties, the uncertainties. We are here for all of you. We are here to help you on this journey of motherhood,” Mationg said, adding that Club Baby MD supports both mom and baby every step of the way.

Celebrity parents Nico Bolzico, Laura Lehmann and Jess Wilson shared relatable stories about learning parenthood as they go.

Bolzico shared that fatherhood begins with supporting moms.

“I feel like moms know better all the time. So, our role as fathers should be to assist and support the mom,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lehmann admitted that first-time moms often feel pressure to prepare for everything—only to realize babies come with their own surprises.

“You kind of over-prepare because you're so anxious for your baby… But then when the baby actually comes, you kind of have the shock of your life and in reality you're not prepared for what you're about to handle,” she said.

She advised moms not to overspend on products they may not need right away.

“I think if I had someone remind me to maybe wait it out and relax and not buy everything… I spent so much money that I think I didn't need to.”

Wilson, now a mom of two, said experience helped her let go of perfectionism.

“With the first one, you're very consumed and it's all new and you're trying to be perfect. With the second one, you're like, forget the perfection, forget the schedules,” she said.

She emphasized the importance of asking for help.

“The needs of a second one are people, not things. You need a village. I truly believe you can't do it alone.”

Why community matters

Much of the conversation centered on how motherhood can feel isolating and why having a support group changes everything.

“The mom community somehow keeps me from feeling so alone,” Wilson shared.

“When you do it together, it's just less crazy, less scary, and you're less in your head.”

Lehmann added that a healthy moms’ group should be a place of trust and respect.

“It’s learning to filter out that noise and finding a group that will love you for who you are and respect the decisions that you make.”

Bolzico said communities are valuable both emotionally and practically.

“You have communities more like Club Baby MD, where you have more professionals who also help you in the more technical aspects… The more communities you are part of, the better.”

Expert care moms can trust

Guest pediatrician Dr. Joey Estanislao reminded moms that even doctors learn parenthood in real time.

“Even for us doctors or physicians, once the baby is there, it's like everything just flies out the window. You really learn as you go,” she said.

“You know the ideal, but in reality it's a bit more difficult to apply.”

“It really takes a village… for you to really get the best care for your child,” she said, echoing the need for support systems.

Keeping baby care simple

When asked for baby skin-care advice, the panel agreed that less is more.

“Stick to a simple routine,” Wilson said.

“Stick with products that are gentle and made for babies like Cetaphil Baby.”

Lehmann agreed, saying moms can easily get overwhelmed by too many options: “At the end of the day, it's the products that are gentle, that work, that are trusted.”

Bolzico added that Cetaphil Baby has long been part of their family routine.

“My babies never had any skin problem. We have been using the Cetaphil Baby Gentle Wash and Cetaphil Daily Lotion with Calendula, and it has been such an easy journey for us.”

Closing the event, Cetaphil Senior Brand Manager Ann Jaymalin thanked moms for showing up not only for their families, but for themselves.

“Beyond the products and expertise, we wanted to provide a space where you felt seen, heard and appreciated,” she said.

“While we are the ones caring for everyone else, you deserve a circle that cares for you too.”
