MANILA, Philippines — Several members of the Lopez family will be vying for four board seats in listed Lopez Holdings Corp.’s upcoming annual stockholders’ meeting.

Lopez Holdings said it received nominations for Federico “Piki” Lopez, Martin Lopez, Rafael Lopez, Miguel Lopez, Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, Benjamin Lopez, Mercedes Lopez Vargas and Catherine Lopez as members of the board of directors for the ensuing year 2026 to 2027.

Piki currently serves as the company’s chairman and CEO, while Martin is vice-chairman and Rafael is an incumbent director.

Miguel, for his part, has been with the company since 2010 and was elected treasurer in 2020.

Gabby is the chairman of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc., while Benjamin is a director and vice chairman of the First Philippine Holdings Corp. (FPH)

Mercedes also serves as a director of FPH, while Catherine has served as vice president for finance at ABS-CBN since 2009 and concurrently chief financial officer of ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc. since 2019.

Aside from the members of the Lopez clan, also nominated as regular directors are Ricardo Tan Jr. and Angel Ong.

Meanwhile, nominated as independent directors are Ma. Rosario Fatima Labay, Kesterson Kua, Michael Jack Garcia, Rafael Andrada, Emmanuel De Dios, Nestor Vasay and Cirilo Noel.

Lopez Holdings’ current directors include Piki, Martin, Rafael and Salvador Tirona, while Jack Garcia remains the sole independent director on the company’s seven-member board.

Consuelo Garcia and Roberto Panlilio resigned as independent directors last May.

Lopez Holdings is set to hold its annual stockholders’ meeting on Sept. 14.

The company previously rescheduled its ASM for Aug. 7 to Sept. 14 to “give the corporation time to comply with the comments and requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission on its preliminary information statement.”

Lopez Holdings was incorporated in 1993 by the Lopez family to serve as the holding company for investments in major development sectors such as broadcasting and cable; power generation and distribution.

It then added investments in other basic service sectors, but has since sold its interests in banking, toll roads, information technology, property development, telecommunications and health care delivery.

Its current interests are in power generation, especially in the development of clean, indigenous and/or renewable energy sources and in multimedia communications, including broadcast, cable and telecom.
