MANILA, Philippines — Actress Lotlot de Leon stressed that the legacy left by her late mother, Superstar Nora Aunor, is not about money or material things.
More than these, Lotlot believes that character and helping others without asking for anything in return are the most important of all.
Lotlot attended the “Bongga Ka Guy, A Celebration of Life of Ms. Nora Aunor” event organized by solid Noranians held at Alano Hall at the Philippine Navy Golf Course in Taguig City last April 16.
'Yun ang pinaka-importante para sa akin," she said during the event.
The awards bestowed on Nora are already proof of her legacy that will be known to future generations. The most important thing is to continue her legacy of helping others and being kind to people.
Lotlot also revealed how her mother welcomed busloads of fans visiting their home. Nora would ask her to entertain their guests whenever her schedule was busy.
She also described Nora as a mother. For Lotlot, Nora was a regular person, not someone who was larger-than-life. Nora was "simply Mommy."
“Para sa akin, bilang ina, siyempre ordinaryong ina siya para sa akin," she said.
“'Yung impact niya as a person and as a mommy, I learn to recognize as I’m growing up. But for me, she’s simply Mommy,” she added.
Lotlot touched on the controversies that Nora faced, including those even after her passing. Nora died in April last year.
She remains unfazed through it all, thankful for those who continue to cherish her mother's memory and legacy.
“Ang dami nang nangyari all through the years. One year ngayon, we try to go on day by day, at kung may isang tao na nagbuklod sa ating lahat at yan ay walang iba kundi ang aking ina," Lotlot said.
“By being all together, by taking care of each other also as a group of people who love her," she ended.
