LPA may form next week, moderate chance to become tropical depression

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) may form inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) next week and could develop into a tropical depression, the state weather bureau said on Friday. This is based on the tropical cyclone potential forecast for January 9–15 released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
