MANILA, Philippines—La Salle forward Luis Pablo will have a bevy of responsibilities in a short window.
After joining the Green Archers early in the UAAP Season 89 men’s basketball tournament campaign, Pablo will fly to Japan on September 19 to compete with Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 in the 2026 Asian Games.

What some may consider a burden, Pablo sees as a driving force. Playing for two teams in one month may be challenging, but that’s nothing new for Pablo, who continues to keep his love for the game intact.
“The main key is my willingness to play for both teams,” Pablo said during the UAAP Season 89 press conference at Novotel on Tuesday.
“Everyone thinks it’s challenging but I think I have the willingness and passion for the sport. It gives me the energy I need.”
The reigning UAAP champion will be joined by fellow La Salle swingman Doy Dungo, UST rising star Koji Buenaflor and Nic Cabañero in Aichi-Nagoya.
Coach Patrick Fran will call the shots for the Gilas Pilipinas quartet.
“With us, we all have the same goal, which is to win,” said Pablo. “Every practice, we push each other.”
