A late-night quake with epicenter recorded off Jomalig, Quezon shakes areas in Luzon on Wednesday, July 29.

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.6 tectonic earthquake struck off Jomalig, Quezon late Wednesday night, July 29, and was felt in Quezon City and other parts of Luzon, state seismologists said.

In an advisory, PHIVOLCS said the quake occurred at 10:11:05 p.m.

The earthquake was located 93 kilometers north 36 degrees east of Jomalig at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Intensity 3 was reported in Quezon City.

Instrumental Intensity 3, meanwhile, was recorded in Jose Panganiban and Mercedes in Camarines Norte, as well as Guinayangan and Infanta in Quezon.

Instrumental Intensity 2 was recorded in Ragay, Iriga City, Pili, Sipocot and Sagñay in Camarines Sur.

PHIVOLCS said damage is not expected, but aftershocks may occur.
