Saan hitmaker Maki got real and candid when he shared why the University of the Philippines (UP) has a special place in his heart. He also expresses excitement about the release of his upcoming full-length album titled KOLORCOASTER this year.

In an interview with LatestChika.com/The Philippine STAR before performing at the recent “UP Fair: REV Music Festival,” Maki revealed why UP is very close to his heart and music.

“Ito talaga ‘yung place na lagi kong pinupuntahan whenever super happy ako. I wanna celebrate something. And also times na sobra akong down. I need solace or like a space from the world,” he revealed.

When asked to describe the color of his career and love life, Maki answered that his career path is now “dilaw.”

“Kasi ‘yung career ko ngayon, it’s very bright! I wrote this song (dilaw) for myself. I told myself, ‘OK na pala ako’ like for a long time. Naging sobra akong dependent (on) other people. It’s okay to be sad. Pero mahirap na sobrang nakaupo ka na sa sadness. Kakainin kana no’n nang buo,” he explained.

He continued, “Hindi na maghahanap ng mga sagot sa mga tanong na ganoon. Meron magiging day na puro yellow ‘yung makikita mo.”

Maki also laughed when he talked about his relationship status.

“Self-love? Wala akong love life, eh! Real love kasi na-realize ko na it’s quiet. Sometimes, it’s loud. Sometimes it’s crazy. But most of the time, ang love, dapat home siya… I’m gonna be the best for that someone!” he said.

Maki also shared his gratitude to his fans for their continuous support, especially as he is gearing up for the release of his full-length album this year.

“Maraming surprises for them! I’m actually dropping a full-length album! It’s gonna be called KOLORCOASTER! ‘Yung mga songs ko ‘yung mga babies ko talaga. I don’t release what I don’t like,” he stressed.
