BAGUIO CITY — A 75-year-old male resident of Central Ambiong, Benguet, died in an accident at the parking area of a mall in the Summer Capital.

The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), in a report to Mayor Benjamin Magalong, said the incident took place at 1:35 p.m. on Thursday.

Initial investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) said the victim was walking along the parking area when he was accidentally bumped by a Ford Ranger while in the process of parking in one of the slots.

The victim was rushed to the hospital by the mall management's emergency vehicle but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into police custody while TEU investigators prepare the necessary documents for the inquest proceedings.
