LOBO, BATANGAS — Lota Manalo has officially resumed her post as mayor of Lobo town in Batangas after the Court of Appeals (CA) ruled in her favor.
Interior and Local Government regional director Ariel Iglesia personally handed over to Manalo the CA decision which mandated her immediate reinstatement.
In a simple ceremony held at the mayor's office, Manalo took her oath of office before Iglesia, marking her return to office.
The court's decision comes after a legal battle over her previous removal from the post. She was accused of violating the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, grave misconduct, and gross neglect of duty.
Manalo's supporters celebrated her reinstatement, expressing optimism for the town's continued progress under her administration.
