MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday left Manila to attend the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan, where he is expected to promote Philippine tourism.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President designated Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella 3rd and Education Secretary Sonny Angara as the country's caretakers while in Japan.

Aside from attending the expo, Castro said Marcos would also meet with businessmen and the Filipino community.

The President will likely be back in the country over the weekend, Castro said.

Launched early this month, the World Expo was joined by 160 countries and regions showcasing their technology, culture, and food, with host Japan hoping to provide the world with some much-needed hope.
